Singer-rapper Sean Kingston was renting a house in Southwest Ranches when the Broward Sheriff’s Office searched the property and arrested his mother on several fraud and theft charges.
Officials claim that Kingston, actual name Kisean Paul Anderson, is not paying for an entertainment system worth $150,000.
Overlooking the situation, 7Skyforce saw deputies and cruisers around the house. All day long, deputies were seen coming and going from the residence.
BSO detained Anderson’s mother Janice Turner, 61, during the operation on Thursday. There she was, handcuffed outside the home.
A business sued Anderson back in February, saying the rapper had never paid for the goods.
Attorney Dennis Card of the firm was outside the house as the raid was going on.
“He claimed to work with Justin Bieber and that he obviously puts on a big show here; this is a rental house; he doesn’t own it,” Card stated. And he entices people to release stuff without paying for them using his notoriety, and he just never pays.
On Thursday, staff from the firm that completed the job, Ver Ver Entertainment, were at the residence disassembling the equipment.
Card claimed to have known about the operation for many months. According to him, BSO is trying to have their search warrant extended so they may search more of Anderson’s house.
He is taking the property itself, Card argued. He tells them a usual script in which he claims to be a recording artist, which he most definitely is, and that he wants to buy these items but never pays for them. The narrative comes to a close when he receives the things. He repeatedly carries out this action.
South Florida has seen Kingston in the headlines before. On a personal watercraft, he struck a Miami Beach bridge back in 2011, severely injuring him.
Representatives of Anderson were contacted by 7News, but they have not responded.
During the raid, Anderson was not at the house. He is supposedly in Los Angeles for a show.
On Instagram Story, he said, “People adore bad energy! Both my mother and I are doing well!My attorneys are taking care of everything as we speak.
The Strategic Investigations team of BSO and the Davie Police SWAT team served the arrest and search warrants, as did investigators from the BSO Dania Beach District. At last they made it into a garage, where more stuff was taken out and cars were pulled off the road.
